Each year, we have several brothers go on to grad school in business, medicine, law, and other disciplines. Many of these brothers have earned scholarships to help continue their educations.

Hazing Policy

Our policy on hazing is very simple: We don't tolerate it. Therefore, we reaffirm our opposition to hazing, and we subscribe in policy and practice to the following statements:

Hazing Policy of Phi Gamma Delta

No chapter, colony, student or graduate Brother shall conduct nor condone hazing activities. Hazing activities are defined as:

Any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities may include but are not limited to the following: use of alcohol; paddling in any form; creation of excessive fatigue; physical and psychological shocks; quests, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, road trips or any other such activities carried on an outside or inside of the confines of the chapter house; wearing of public apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and buffoonery; morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; and any other activities which are not consistent with academic achievement, fraternal law, ritual, or policy, or the regulations and policies of the educational institution, or applicable state law.

No chapter, colony, interest group, student, or alumnus shall conduct nor condone hazing activities. Hazing is defined as::

Any action taken or situation created, whether on or off chapter premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities may include but are not limited to the following: use of alcohol; paddling in any form; creation of excessive fatigue; physical or psychological shocks; quests, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, road trips or any other such activities carried on an outside or inside of the confines of the chapter house; the wearing of public apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and buffoonery; morally degrading or humility games and activities, late work sessions which are not consistent with scholastic activities, and any other activities whch are not consistent with fraternal law, ritual, or regulations and policies of the educational instution.

Alcohol Free Housing

Phi Gamma delta is dedicated to Alcohol-Free housing. No alcohol may be present at any time on the chapter premises. Alpha Nu strictly follows both UNM, and Phi Gamma Delta policy pertaining to alcohol. Having alcohol present can lead to unsafe environments, and may lead to a less efficient learning environment. Alcohol may be permitted at Fraternity events that are conducted off campus such as formals, all of these will have a bartender and security present, and only those who are 21 or older will be permitted to consume alcohol..
